Gabriela Pecenka

Gabriela Pecenka is a Chicago-based emerging artist exploring oil pastel, acrylic, and written word. Her practice is still taking shape, guided by curiosity and a willingness to experiment with form and medium. Flowers, landscapes, and quiet scenic studies sit alongside more urgent, political works—pieces that confront themes of autonomy and power through depictions of the female body.

As both a painter and a poet, Gabriela approaches art as a layered conversation: it can be beautiful to see, moving to hear, but also a vehicle for truth, critique, and resistance. Her work reflects the tension between softness and strength, offering space for reflection while also calling viewers to feel, question, and engage.
